userAnonymous: Definately get the neck pain checked out...don't let it get any worse before it can get treated. ;o)
Vickie: I am also sorry about your depression. This is often a side effect of a major change, and it does sound like some major changes going on. It would be hard to adjust from city to country life...just not as much going on. But the positives...the fresh air and scenery, can be better. Try to hang in there and try to focus on the good things.
Laura: I really hope that you get super relief from the shots.
I am getting my cervical esi tomorrow afternoon. For those who haven't checked my (numerous!) postings...okay I have really been active on the boards - I really love this group and never get a chance to really talk to people who truly understand all that is cp...but I had experienced neck/shoulder/arm/upper back pain for a while and was progressively getting worse despite ice/heat/meds. I got an MRI in December and it was discovered that I have 4 significant disc issues (3 broad bulges and a significant protrusion in another) and that my neck is also much worse than my low back, which has been the source of my cp for several years.
My previous docs just assumed that the upper back symptoms were due to the issues in my low back and never did the mri or even look into it. Well, now I know I wasn't feeling the pain just in my head. So esi tomorrow and I am hopeful that it will help me. I have been told I will need surgery but can put it off for another few years.
I am still working ft in an office setting, the sitting is causing me great discomfort. My doc sent in the ADA paperwork for me to get an ergonomic workstation that can adjust to sitting/standing and my employer is now determining if they approve it. How can they deny it when my doc has said I need it? Hopefully I won't have to find out...
I am starting to pack up my things anyways - I have about 4 months before I can relocate back home without paying back the relo fees. I figure if I start packing now I can do it slowly and steadily and be ready to go when it is time without a stressful last minute packing session. That will be easier on my back.
My 10 y/o daughter is having a tough time, she absolutely hates it here and does not hold back in letting me know. She is shy and has had a very tough time making friends, and we lived back home our entire lives, so this has been a major change for all of us - but is hitting her and my husband the worst. Having me in pain an not able to do much outside of work is not helpful either, especially when we don't really know anyone here and all close family/friends are across the country. Aw well, it will be over soon enough.
Anyways, I am not trying to hijack this thread! I hope everyone has a great week and has limited pain, improvement in what they have had, all sending good vibes to all.
