My pain doc took me off Roboxin because it was too weak and put me on Zanaflex. He explained that it's similar to Flexeril (which I had a bad reaction to). I have to go for xrays because my back and hip are messed up and getting worse so he wants to see if my scoliosis is progressing and if my hip is being affected from it because I've been having some pain. I'm so sick of it all.

Zanaflex is a good muscle relaxer. I can't take it because it messes with my liver enzymes.

Well, I've never taken Zanaflex but I do take flexeril. In the beginning it made me VERY drowsy.. But as time went on that symptom subsided. The only thing that bothers me about flexeril is that if I take it for more than like 3 days in a row it's like I just took a sugar pill.. So, I know only use it on occasion.

Good luck w/ the Zanaflex. I couldn't take it because it dropped my blood pressure too much.... and made me really dizzy, etc.

Sorry you are overwhelmed w/ everything..... hopefully the x-rays will give a clue as to what's going on....

The Zanaflex does make me feel really tired and makes my vision kind of blurry.

Common side effect of Zanaflex, so make sure to not be driving or doing anything else that could be harmful until these side effects go away. By my 3rd day, the drowsiness with the flexeril was gone. It made me sleep like a baby the first 2 days though. wink

I took it for quite a while & loved it.The first week on it I did get a little sleepy but that went away. It was very effective for me, but when I had to change PM drs she switched me to Baclofen. So far I am having good results with the Baclofen. I hope it works for you.
