Hi Marilyn, the injections are not 100% guaranteed that they will work, it is all trial & error. I am surprised your dr did not tell you this. How long ago did you have the injection? Have you had any type of PT with someone that has experience with this condition? I have read about
this here at the forum. You may want to use the search feature & see what you can pull up. When do you see your dr again? If you don't have an appt I would schedule one & ask him what is next.
Take care......Susie

Hi Susie, yes, I kinda knew if the shot worked that was where the problem was. I had the injection last Wed. Been about
5 days. Weird thing is the shot he gave me in his office worked.
He mentioned screws. If the flouroscopy didn't find, I can't see screws working. Yukie Yukie
My Doctors office is so busy, I do have a call in. I wish I could find somebody that has went thru this before. I will keep searching.
Have you every had this done?
Thank you :)

I had injections in my back, nothing unfortunately, I only had them done once my doc said if it didn't help the first time there wasn't any point. I've never heard anything about
hardware though, what is wrong with your hips?

Hello Marilyn and sorry your having a difficult time. All my injections are done under fluroscopy and sometimes I don't see relief for a week or more. The times I notice almost instant relief it lasts a very short period of time and then I'm right back to the higher pain levels.
It's still early out so try to give it a few more days before calling it unsuccessful. I have had some that don't bring any relief and they're all done the same by the same Dr, anybody's guess why some work and others don't.
Don't give up on them if this is the first and make sure your Dr knows you got little to no relief and that will allow him to adjust the meds accordingly next time.

Everyone has offered some good thoughts already...I know it's difficult, but keep trying to work with your Drs. and find that combination of treatments and medications that can help.

Vicki, I couldn't wait to tell you on my 6th day from the shot I felt a little better. The nurse told me today the shot has done about
all it is gonna do. I would say 60 to 70 % better. But it still take pain med for me to
feel anykind of norma.
BUT, at least I got something out of it. They made me an appt. with a nurse practioner, to discuss whats next. Feels really weird not to see the Surgeon to discuss such things. Geezs
I will say Dc. Caladney is a great Dc. and so so nice. Very comfortable with him.
I hate to say, but I think I have got to except that this is what I am gonna have to live with at 53.
