Hi Loretta, I was wondering, did you get your meds yet? I'm sorry if I missed it somewhere already, I was just thinking of you and figured I would ask.

I was wondering about Loretta too! I know on the 16th she still hadn't received them..... :(

I'm back. No, I haven't got my meds yet. I called the pharmacy today , and they still hadn't received them. I called the doctor's office and told them that my pharmacy still hadn't received the scripts yet. My doctor is off on Tuesday's, so the receptionist said she would send a note back for her to see when she comes in tomorrow.

We had a big scare Sunday night. Jerome felt faint, and fell to the kitchen floor. Scared the daylights out of me. I gave him 25 minutes. He vomited once, and I called the ambulance. We went to the hospital. Very early on Monday morning, they admitted him, and he was dehydrated. They didn'ty say that, but I know what it was, because he doesn't drink fluids during the day like he should, and his potassium was low, so it was apparent to me.

He got discharged yesterday at 3:30pm. He is doing fine now. I made sure he had water in the bedroom since that's where he spends a lot of time on his computer. I told him in the hospital that I'm going to be making sure he doesn't get dehydrated again.

That's what we've been dealing with the past two days. I'm so glad it's over. I stayed there in his room, and came home when he did. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep, and my back was killing me. but I wasn't leaving.

I hope everyone is having a low pain day.

Omg Loretta that's just scary. Then to have to "sleep "in one of hospital chairs too.

I can't begin to understand what's the problem with your Dr and your meds but what I'm now afraid is going to happen is when you actually get to an appointment or maybe even now,that they're thinking you've done okay this long you will be okay without them altogether.

Many Drs see your ability to handle almost 3 weeks and no meds for pain, didnt show up in the office or emergency room as not needing them as bad as you think.

Mind you we know your reasons for not doing either of those things but they may not consider them.

Im afraid for you at this point. When is your next appointment?

Glad hubby was OK and why is it they can't even remember to get a drink of water without us??

Scary story, glad it turned out ok. Phew.

Glad to hear back from you, life never gets any easier, does it?

It's easier to become dehydrated than people commonly think, when I was about to get the PET scan a couple of months back, the operator said I appeared to be pretty dehydrated, thought I didn't feel any particular way, and thought I had drank plenty of fluids.

VERY scary about Jerome -- but glad it all worked out ok and wasn't anything worse!

I can't believe you haven't gotten your meds??! I'm w/ Vickie -- I'm afraid if you don't press on about getting them.... your doctor might take you off of them?? Can you make an appointment and get in to see your doctor?

So very sorry about this scare you had and I hope nothing like that happen ever again for you...Maybe tell your pm clinic that your hubby was in the hospital and maybe that will help you get your medications...many well wishes and hope you get your medications soon...

Hi Loretta,

I too am very worried that your PM won't give you pain meds now. He/she very well may say you've gone this long without them and managed fine.

Of course, we KNOW you haven't been fine. However, Dr's nowadays seem to go by what they see from the patient.

I would really try to get in to see them and let them know how miserable you have been. Please let us know how things go.

You'll be in my prayers, I truly hope that you can be seen today.

Hi Loretta, I'm glad Jerome is OK. Any news today? I have half the mind to call your doctor myself if I knew it would help. 8-)

I would call too but it would be to the Board of Ethics at the AMA. Some serious issues going on with this Dr at least in this case.

Who knows what other folks are doing without what meds. I thought I'd seen it all in 25 yrs.

I'm going to call a little later, and see if she has done my scripts yet. I see her on May 30th. If I don't have them by then, I'm going to let her know how I feel. I have been thru he**. That's what I'm going to tell her. I don't care if she likes it or not. If she says no, then I'm going to tell her that I'm finding another doctor, and she is losing me as a patient. I'm thinking about getting a hold of the AMA Board of Ethics like you suggested Vickie. I'm totally disgusted at this point.
