Hi I have severe planter fasicits in both feet. I have tryed cortozone shots special shoes. I had electric shock wave theropy in the left foot did not work. I had surgery in the right foot to release the planter fasica and the heel spur has been taken out three months ago. I am still in a lot of pain. Has any one had this surgery for planter fasicis? I would like to know if it worked or not. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to relieve this horrible pain? I have tryed night splints also. Did not work. Nothing seems to help. Thunder.

Hi Misty, sorry to read that you are having such a tough time. I cannot fathom the foot pain that you are describing. I know this has been discussed here previously,so I suggest that you use the search feature here at the forum & see what you can pull up in some previous threads.

What is your dr saying about the difficulty you are having? Keep us posted on how you are doing.

Hello Misty and sorry to see your in such pain. Like Susie I recall other posts about this and using search is a great way to see what advice was offered to others.

3 months post -open is not necessarily a long time in determining a successful surgery and especially foot surgery. I know its hard to be patient but keep doing whatever they advised you to and give it time.

Have you ever seen a rheumatologist about this? Plantar fasciitis and Achuilles tendon problems in the heels is a common symptom in a family of diseases defined as spondylitis. Do you have problems with your lower back or other joints? Is your back stiff in the morning and as you move about it loosens up? If you do experience any of these things, I encourage you to get evaluated by a rheumatologist.

My ankylosing spondylitis first became evident when I developed plantar fasciitis..
