Does anyone here take Celebrex? Does it help for your pain?

Just curious. I'm wondering...if you can take aspirin with it. If not, I'll have to stop taking aspirin. Wanted to see if it helps anyone's pain here. Hope everyone is well.

I would double check with your Dr. and/or Pharmacist.....

It says on rxlist.com that it can be used with "low dose" aspirin which I assume is like what my mom takes daily at 81mg for heart health...

But it mentions that it certainly raises the risk for gastro issues, ulcers, etc.

What do you take the aspirin for? If it's not something absolutely needed right now then maybe stop while on the Celebrex....that is just my own opinion obviously....but I have a very sensitive stomach and have to really limit the things that cause stomach problems.

Your Dr./Pharmacist will be able to give you the best answer...

When I was taking Celebrex my doc advised me to be careful using other medications that contain NSAIDs. He said people usually don't keep track of how much they're actually ingesting, so it's easier to hit or exceed that recommended daily allowance.

It really depends on your dose of Celebrex, how many other things you take that might contain NSAIDs, how sensitive you are to them, and if you have a history of stomach problems, ulcers, etc.

I would ask your doc next time you go, and until then just keep track of the milligrams you're taking and make sure its not excessive.

As for if it worked for me, it did, but it was super expensive. My insurance didn't want to cover it, and it came with a lot of risk factors I didn't like given my situation so I switched to Diclofenac (another NSAID) instead.

I was on Celebrex, but was taken off it. There was a big thing here a few years ago, it was initially hailed a wonder drug but they decided for many there were too many negatives and many were taken off it. Do believe it is still used in certain circumstances, but not routinely as it once was.

I have taken Celebrex briefly for inflammation many times. Mostly I have taken only one a day - the normal dose, but it doesn't do much of anything for me. Two a day helps fairly well (as long as I take my tramadol for other pain) and I haven't had any trouble with it, but it can cause heart problems in addition to stomach trouble.

I don't really get much more relief from Celebrex 2/day than Advil 3/BID. Advil isn't so good for your heart either.

I have kept on my ASA 81mg as prescribed by my cardiologist.

I have never taken celebrex as I have bad kidneys and NSAID's affect the kidneys badly. I am not allowed to take ibuprofen or other otc's. Tylenol is ok once in awhile - for seldom use I was told. But it doesn't help inflammation either. Only the NSAID's seem to.

But there is a low dose enteric coated aspirin that I take for a hole in my heart that is 81mg.
