The only thing I can find online about
it describes it as:
The autonomic nervous system testing measures the heart rate, respiration and blood pressure in sitting and standing. There are two breathing challenges during the test to measure the balance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic branches of the autonomic nervous system.
I guess it all depends on what they are saying they want to do to treat you to "get you back into balance"...
I certainly believe in and do non-medicinal things to help my pain like acupuncture, physical therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, counseling, exercise, yoga, TENS unit, ice, heat, eating well, etc...All these things help me take the least amount of medication I can.
But if they are wanting you to buy their brand of expensive vitamins, foods, juices, or buy books or CDs that they author, or have all these other treatments that aren't covered by insurance...then this is when I would run the other direction...LOL
First thing, I would make sure that the actual test is covered under your insurance.
I am always open to new ways to work on my pain levels both physically and emotionally/mentally as long as it "makes sense" and there are studies done on treatments or I know of others who have actually been helped.
Keep us posted on everything!
