LOL..I think it was the time frame of staying in the blood that threw me off as I realize that being low on electrolytes can be a problem with BP and heart issues....So hadn't heard of someone explaining the need for Gatorade that way:)
One of my favorite drinks is VitaCoCo that is Coconut water and has sodium and the amount of potassium in 4 bananas...There are different flavors and I love them and use them when hiking or doing something strenuous or when I am sick and need electrolytes.
So maybe something to add into the mix so you don't have to have the same thing every day.
