Separate post as it's not going to be applicable, but for the past two nights I have been having vivid dreams of NOLA. I think it's really egging me that I waaaaant and neeeeed to get back to NOLA for a visit. It's been years. I can't do it yet, but for those of you down there, hopefully one day in the future I can come visit you all.

Just my two cents worth.... I would start a new thread w/ some very general information -- such as: Potential Member Meet-up, sometime in September, for those in California. Anyone interested? Please e-mail me this week for details.

That way - you'll see what type of response you get, the details are private and not on the open forum, etc.

Once you have 2 or 3 people that want to do it - you've got an event. :) From there, you can occasionally bump up your thread for new people that might be interested, until your meet up happens.

Anyway - that's the way I've seen it done before and on other boards. Hope that helps.
