Help

Ok so I've been going doctors for a few month now I've had blood tests and a random scan on my liver don't know why, anyway both have come back with nothing and everything appears ok. Now tests are ok the doctors don't want to know.

My symptoms are as follows:

extreme tiredness
nausea everyday
really sore head
dizziness
loss of co ordination
forgetfulness
weakness
general aches and pains
weight loss
loss of appetite

because ive suffered with depression the doctor says its that, i know my own body and know when something isnt right, usually with my depression i become grumpy and do nothing but eat so i know its not that.

Any help what so ever would be gratefully appreciated a litte bit about me, i exercise but not extreme i'm 27 5ft7 9st11 female. i eat healthily and don't smoke or drink

I am not a doctor but here is my laymans guess.

This sounds like a neurological problem. Have they done any kind of brain activity scans on you?
There are a number of clues that point to neuro problems [not extreme problems] but when you go to your primary request that you be sent to someone who specializes in the brain area. A lot of these are symptoms of depression but the photo-sensitivity, tingling in the right side of your face, and really sore head point to the brain. The rest of your symptoms are A-typical of depression.

Have you had meningitis, measles, mumps, rubella, or any other serious viral infection?
How long ago did these symptoms start? Did they start all together or did one come and a domino effect ensued? Also does anyone in your family have a history of huntingtons, parkinsons, or any other neurological problems [ie strokes, seizures{edit->} or brain tumors ect]? Feel free to not post answers if you feel I am going to in-depth into the questions. If you do have familial history of neurological problems you need to point those out to your Doctor and ask for neurological testing.

Sorry to hear about your frustrations. I would read the introduction to Lyme disease on that forum. No one could figure out what was wrong with me.

All of your symptoms are indicative of lyme or a co-infection. I have had all those symptoms and more they come and go and new symptoms are always popping up.

Hope you find some answers.Don't let your GP try to convince you nothing's wrong just because he can't diagnos(sp) your problem.Sometimes you have to go over their head when they won't help you.

Something else you may want to consider is getting copies of all your medical records and get a consult at a teaching hospital that is the closest to your home. People do this quite frequently when their own drs blow them off or act disinterested. You know your body so don't let the GP tell you its nothing. If it was nothing you would not be trying to get help. let us know what you find out.....Susie

Butterfly, if your Doctor is part of a hospital group just go to the hospital records section and fill out a request for copies of you medical records. (They have to give them to you) but they might charge you a small fee to make the copies. Anyway then make an appointment with a different doctor or a university teaching hospital and bring your copies with you. Give them to them but only to make their own copies, and then retain your copies for your self. Even if he is not part of a hospital group, they are required by law to give you access and copies of your private medical records. Most places will make the copies while you wait, if you have a large file and want copies of everything, it might take a few days. But it is a good idea to have your own copies of your medical records anyway. Doctors work for YOU! You have the right to hire and to fire them, and go to somebody else for a second opinion!
