One would think, given that this is my second THR, and my (sometimes annoyingly high) attention to detail, I would know the answer to this, but I don't...and I've been trying to google it and bing it, and I cannot find the combination I'm looking for.
With my last THR on 6/10, I had all sorts of complications, including two severe infections and an allergic reaction to a po abx I'd take before just fine. (Leave it to me).
In the process of, during, and even after (as in now), I had a massive amount of edema (more than expected or usual, based on experience of both my surgeon and myself). Surgery was awesome, recovery great, and the edema didn't really start until the infections. I was awesome after surgery, very little pain.
The difference was noticeable and measurable. Even now my right hip is significantly more swollen, and the pain and swelling is significant around my groin and upper thigh, and at rest, my right leg is three inches charger at the thigh/groin level than my left one. I'm getting pinching with flexion, I have NO hip extension, and I'm getting popping, clicking, buckling. So it's affecting PT and ADL's (no right hip extension makes for imbalanced walking).
When one gets a THR is the labrum left in tact?
I feel like I should know this.
I see my surgeon, (against his wishes) and while XRays show the IMPLANT looks sound, I'm wondering if I should request an MRI to check soft tissue? He's getting frustrated, I need to be concise and have a plan when I see him. My PT's are baffled.
Any help?
