Pie:
What kind of work do you do? I read back through this thread, and perhaps I missed it. You did say in your opening post, that your job was physical. Is it lots of standing on your feet, lots of walking, lots of lifting? trying to understand what type of work you are trying to return to.
You recently posted that you walked 3 straight miles, and a total of 7 miles. Again, that takes an amazing amount of both endurance and strength to do that. I know plenty of people working full time without any CP issues or major medical woes that couldn't do that on a good day.
Glad you said you were in tune with your body (listening to your body), that's a very important attribute to have. As my doctor reminds me when we have our long discussions, only I know how I am feeling, or how I am hurting. The best of doctors are not mind readers, and doctors get frustrated with patients that can't even articulate exactly where they hurt or feel. Makes it much easier for the doctor to help when his patient can properly explain what is going on in their body.
