I started working with a new PT maybe 2+ weeks ago, give or take. Mind you, I've been in PT almost non-stop for close to 2 years. I know they all work differently, I know I have to give my new guy a shot.
I also know that sometimes things get worse before they get better.
But I have been in so much pain, not only my right hip and SI joint, but my knee. It's waking me up at night, I'm having to take Percocet in the middle of the night, I'm (again) getting concerned over how much Tylenol I'm taking, (I'm allergic to NSAIDs), and I've worked out my body hard enough in my life to know when my muscles are being overworked (and I actually enjoy that feeling, I'm weird that way maybe), but this is deep pain.
My PT has repeatedly said that the treatment if I injured my knee would be the same, in that they'd work on addressing hamstring flexibility and quad strengthening, and with things so fresh and my last XRays showing no orthopedic issues, it would take those 4-6 weeks of PT as he first told me, without results or getting worse, before any doctor would even consider MRI's.
I'm not suggesting I want one, but I am confused at how much pain I'm in. I am hurting, I'm exhausted, so I'm walking less than I normally would (because I feel weaker and because these new pains are more aggressive). And I know I'm "supposed" to be getting out there, walking, moving about.
It's been getting consistently worse, the knee and hip pain. On the up side, my back pain has lessened.
I'm just,....hurt and frustrated and don't want to whine to the family....again.
Thanks guys. As always.
