hi everyone. i'm new here, i've just been hunting online for some info about my new medication and came across you guys, and asking can't hurt anymore than, um, pain. sorry, bad joke!
this morning my gp prescribed butrans 10mcg/hour patches, which I'd previously never heard of, but I read the patient information leaflet and slapped one on, and I have to say that I'm feeling rather strange, and I'm wondering if that's normal? I'd previously been taking cocodamol tablets (2 of the 30mg codeine/500mg paracetamol ones four times a day) along with naproxen tablets (500mg twice daily) for over a year, and I'm unsure if I'm supposed to continue with those or if the butrans is meant to replace them. I wasn't able to reach my doctor today to ask, and I didn't want to risk an interaction, so I haven't taken them. I'm not sure if what I'm experiencing is side effects from the patches or possibly withdrawal from the codeine, or perhaps a bit of both? I apologise if I'm unclear- I have literally no experience with or knowledge of this med apart from what I've learned so far today.
