Hi all.
I have been on SSI disability since 2009 for major depression and anxiety and several medical problems. I haven't had a job in years. I don't have the skills most people my age do (I am in no way tech savvy, don't know new programs, etc.
Not being a productive member of society, living with the parents at 28, and being at home all the time just make s my depression worse.
I can work part-time with my SSI but who will hire someone with little experience, no references, and know I am on disability???
I'd like to try a certificate program or 18 month program in school too but I'm afraid of becoming overwhelmed by the load and withdraw like all the other times I've tried school.....
I just need to be doing something. A part of me is even afraid to volunteer bc I don't want to commit to something and fall through bc of illness or my depression.
What do you all do? Any suggestions?
