Sounds like your body is just not tolerating these medications. Maybe stop the Linzess slowly and see if you can take one medication at a time to pinpoint which medication that's causeing this, look on www.drugs.com to see if there is any interactions with these medications, could be an interaction. Doctors do not always look all this up for interactions. Hope you can find the cause soon.
Also, look and see if there are food interactions with these medications.

Hey Linds wondered where you had gotten to. Some folks have more problems with constipation on certain meds, others on LA meds. If I dont stay on top of it and I mean softeners, bulky diet and regular nightly laxative I would never go on my own.

That's only been my experience with the methadone and doesn't happen on any of the other narcotics.

Everyone's effected differently by different meds but its a fact long-term opiates cause major movement problems and are the number one cause of bowel obstruction.

Whatever you take your going to have to stay one step ahead of that game. Some meds slow peristalsis and effect absorption and that's where your going to get problems.

Changing your LA to something else entirely such as MS Contin or exalgo, even fentenyl may be easier on you.

If the ir meds are all your tolerating then its going to take you and Dr to find an alternative since all the ever changing restrictions on CPers on IR meds only. Not sure if they accept "what ifs " when you can't tolerate LA.

Good to hear from you.... was wondering how you were doing..... I'm sorry to hear that you haven't been able to tolerate the LA meds... that's weird, don't know what to make of it... other than as you said, about the fillers in the med. Hopefully the doctor will be able to come up with some things to try? Keep us posted....

Also, good for you for going to school.... what are you taking, if you don't mind sharing?

Thank you for your response. And Tina, I don't mind it at all! I'm going for my BA in business administrations. :-D

I was planning on going half time but since I lost my job I switched to Full Time.

And Rick, uncomfortable doesn't begin to describe it. LoL. But its not just am issue there... Its more so my belly. It starts having really sharp, shooting pains. I didn't have any issues on my long acting med until September and I'd be on it since February. I am interested to see how we will proceed. I'm allergic to morphine so I'm not sure which way he'll go. Guess I'll find out next Friday!
