break through pain

I have not been on the pages for some time but I need some advice/different way of looking at things. I suffer from Osteoarthritis and Fibromyalgia which leaves me in chronic pain in the lower back and both knees. I went to a pain clinic for some time but quit going due to the PA treating me poorly. I am an RN( disabled). He was very rude and did not accept any input from me at all. He had me on Fentanyl patches 12.5 mcg and 25mcg. then 15 mg of morphine. I had some serious side effects from these medications.   I then went to my primary doctor who prescribed 50 mcg of Fentanyl patches and one vicodin per day. Needless to say the one vicodin per day did not hold out very well. How do I explain this to my primary doctor who will need to prescribe pain meds until Dec. 4th. without seeming like a drug seeker. 

Some of the nerve damage meds are said to work well, however Fibro can be difficult to treat.

Ask about Lyrica, Gabapentin, ...even Nucynta may help some. Never be afraid to engage your Dr with med results or the lack there of.
