Monday check-in

Here we go again, it's Monday. Time to check in and share how your weekend went. Did anyone do anything special or have some big plans? I went to a soccer game Saturday and watched my grandson play. I have got to get busy & go buy Halloween candy & get those little bags made up to hand out. I love Halloween and getting dressed up to hand the candy out. Let us hear from you.

This weekend I did homework... And I was feeling so good Saturday I took Iva (6year old) to the Boo Zoo. Its a trick or treating event at the Detroit zoo. It was great but Sunday I was in quite a flare up of pain. Even after I changed my patch at 4 I didn't get much pain relief till late last night.

Oh and guess who has A's in both her classes? :-D I'm pretty proud of myself!

Oh gross Cogito and you paid for that? That's the stuff we throw away rabbit hunting!

Nothing going on this week at all. My daughter from Texas will be in next week and everyone is off to Disney but me! Lol I will be lounging by their condo pool waiting for their pictures! Last time 3 years ago I tried Disney I was down for a week.

Waiting for our day temps to drop so I can sit outside some.

Hoping everyone has some easy pain days

My Saturday was okay but yesterday was awful, been having this strange pain on the far right side of my abdomen for awhile but it went crazy yesterday after my last patch mostly wore off the night before, was just a hair below gall stone pain, my wife has seen a lot and she was scared, this was a solid 7+ of acute discomfort. Have it more under control today w/fresh patch and other meds but I can still feel it all the time (and it's worse when I lie on my other side) and IDK what the hell it is. No fevers so it's not another kidney infection (though am worried about other urological things), my gall bladder is gone so it's not that, I read up on pancreatic pain and it seems like it's in a different spot, and I just have no idea about liver-related anything.

As all f you know,getting into the whole dr appt/test/diagnostic thing is such a drag when you already feel like hell. If this doesn't go away pronto think am going to have to start making some calls, though, something isn't right. Pretty sure if I didn't have the patch I'd be curled up whimpering and gasping like yesterday, something is being partially masked. Am hoping if I email my primary (who is great) he can order an ultrasound or CT w/o making me mess around with an appointment first which we both know will be a waste of time w/o test results.

In happier news, a history-related article I wrote was published today, nice to see it after a lot of work and editing over the last month, plus some nice Russian tea glasses & holders that I ordered arrived this afternoon. Have wanted tea glasses like that for years, just waiting for my wife to get home from class to open them up.

My weekend was good.My older Sister spent the weekend end here.She came down with an awful head cold so I spent a couple of days babying her.I didn't mind though.

Since I've been taking the Oxycontin 30 mg x2,everything has been better.

I just hope it's a long term thing.

I love this idea for a thread heading. It can feel so personal and yet so likely to be a positive/negative venting session.

My weekend went well. My husband and I had planned on going to this pumpkin festival where the facility creates amazing themed carvings and you walk around for hours looking at the designs. Unfortunately because of the rain we didn't go, but I did however spend the entire weekend in my new hot tub!

This week (today) I'm having surgery, bone graft and HWR. In 5 hours actually so I plan on spending the week in pain but with a pain pump.

Hubby worked worked a 24 hour shift on Saturday, so we tried getting all the weekend stuff done on Sunday. By Monday I just wanted to spend the day in bed.

Spent last week running around getting my car taken car of. Time for inspection sticker. Needed to have the rear brake lines replaced and they found a small hole in my frame so that had to be fixed. Thursday I have to have a 4 wheel alignment done. This afternoon I have to take hubby's van down to have his fixed. His power steering let go on his way home from our daughter's appointment yesterday.

Spent Sunday at First Care. Last Thursday while in the shower I found a small little bump on the back of my ear and just brushed it off thinking it was more than likely a little pimple. lol By Friday it had blown up and was killing me. My doc's office is only open a half day on Friday's so I was trying to hold off until Monday. Long story short it ended up being a nasty little abcess and I'm still fighting with the bugger. Not sure where it came from or how I got it.

Still need to get Halloween candy. The older 3 don't want to go out. So they are going to hand candy out. Hubby will be working. So I'm going to take the youngest across the street to the neighbrohood block party and call it good.

And the big excitement we as of last Wednesday have 2 teenage girls in the house with their driver's permits. I'm just glad we don't have to pay for driver's ed again for another year and a half. lol
