Hello all,
I'm 23 years old and had a slip and fall on a wet tile floor in May 2011. It was first diagnosed as a sever sprain, but within 8 months I was diagnosed with Axis 1 diagnosis of Chronic Pain Disorder, and an Axis III diagnosis of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome; in my right arm. I suffer immense neuropathic pain and continue working, now with my left hand. I've been on various medications because of this, starting from T3, nabilone, Arthotec, Gabapentin, Lyrica, Amitripyline, Nucynta and a compound topical cream containing ketamine, lidocaine, clonidine, gabapentin.I believe I've forgotten some in there.
I've been through physio for 6 months ish, and it was very beneficial in gaining my range of motion. But it has reached it's maximum benefit. I go to a massage therapist every month because my left hand/side of my body is over worked, tense. I have tried acupuncture but it only hurt me and with no benefits. I previously did have nerve blocks but they only worked for the first couple of times and then they had no benefit. :( I am currently taking 250mg of nucynta and 2.5mg of nabilone.
I've been very involved in mindfulness since developing this pain and I find this is very beneficial for controlling the level/ severity of the pain. I used to rollarblade, exercise and be a lot more social; now my life is quieter, with less stress and more peacefulness. The less stress, the less the pain.
