frustrated/nerve pain

well monday's coming up rather quickly and kinda looks like i might have to go see my pm.
haven't had any real relief in my nerve pain. even though the doctor increased my nureontin.
tryed my luck at the heating pad also. not really sure what else i can do. my pm had mentioned
that if theres no relief to come in monday and they'll do some kinda x-ray to see if there might
be a kink in the catheder, (sure hope not) but then again if would be nice to find out something
that might be causing this extra pain i've been having. well time will tell. ugh...
needed to vent. thank you...

I've been following your journey, and I feel so badly for how long this trip has been, what you've been through, ....and you've been so persistent and faithful in following up.

I sincerely hope it isn't a cath issue as well. Let's think positively, and maybe it's as simple as an adjustment in medication, or your body adapting.

Just like Alcie, I had problems with Neurontin. My face and neck swelled up and I had dreadful apnea. It scared the heck out of me. I quit it cold turkey and notified my doctor immediately. I saw her within 3 days, and she could understand why I did that. It's the only med I felt so scared taking, that I even considered stopping like that 3 days before seeing my doc. It was frightening.

There are other options out there, so, along with the thinking-positively-route, let's add to that, that perhaps if this particular drug isn't right for you, your doc will help you get onto Lyrica or another similar, (but different) med.

hey everybody, thanks for the replys. been taking neurontin for so long i can't recall when i started taking it.. i tryed lyrica for a little while but had some reaction to it. it would make me kinda clumzy
and felt like i was in a fog. so stopped taking that not long after. i wanna say that neurontin worked
for awhile but seemed to be not as effective. had it raised maybe three or four times. any way i think
i'm lucky in that the pain hasn't really elvated much over the past couple days. just constant. makes for funny walking though. (if i can say funny) at least my attitute is still good. helps me get through the days. thanks again...:)

Mark, your meds in your pump will not have much effect on your pain if its true nerve pain. Narcotics just do not cover that type of pain well at all. It sounds like you have built a tolerance to your Neurotin & maybe its time to try you on something different.
