Remember how I had two surgeons at my procedure? One surgeon removed the tumor and nodes, the other one removed the precancerous tissues (changes which had been occurring from previous mammograms, I elected to have them remove anything suspicious -- partial mastectomy).
Today I had my f/u with the plastic surgeon, and interestingly enough, HE seems at least a "little bit" cautious about the redness that I'm presenting with beneath the breast that had the tumor & nodes removed. My first surgeon said it was part of the healing, he examined everything, said it was fine... His point was, things were changing.
So I'm still having breast pain (let's add that to the other CP stuff to beat the band)...the PS said he perceived a small amount of fluid but elected not to aspirate, it wasn't sufficient. But without my saying a word, he went right to the red spots that I was worried about last week.
He marked them with a surgical marker, told me to keep an eye on them. If they changed, got worse, to see him sooner rather than later. If, however, they shrunk down, then I come back in 3 months.
So needless to say, I haven't eaten a darn thing today, after that appt, because yes, I admit it, I got a little bugged out.
Then my surgeon's office called to schedule my appointment with the Medical Oncologist for Jan 15 (the Radiation one is Jan 9)......so my appointment ducks are in a row, and they're moving me swiftly.
I'm not sure if I'm feeling more back pain because I haven't been as active, or because I'm feeling stretched. I just know I don't feel like me. Not yet anyway.
