Hi Smiley, yes, what Jim1969 and Judy said. Prednisone will raise blood sugar and if you're on this steroid for a long time, your doctor will prescribe meds to bring the blood sugar down, which you wrote that he has already done. You can help yourself along with the Novalog if you cut out the heavy carbs because they also raise blood sugar: bread, anything with sugar or flour, potatoes, rice, for example.
It's important to monitor your blood sugar daily, and, with your doctor's instructions, your diabetes meds may need to be adjusted.
