I can't keep living in so much pain. Someone please comment. I'd really appreciate it.

ok…sounds like you experienced some of the common side effects. Most of them should subside after a while. I experienced the same thing with it, but after a couple of months they began to diminish, and continued to do so for several months after that.

I see many patients giving up on meds during the trial period, and not giving the med a real chance to work. It takes several weeks to realize the full benefit of some of these meds. Nucynta is a duel purpose med, containing not only a narcotic, but nerve damage properties as well. That part of the med needs to be given a chance to work.

I generally have my dose increased well above the starting dose, before giving up on it. Maybe it will be something you will want to revisit at a later date.

However, only you know what is working and what is not, and the experience is not the same from patient to patient.

One more thing,….Nucynta should not be taken as a BT med. Maybe the IR can be but the ER should not be.

Miguel, no it's not stupid. Everyone has their different ways of managing their pain. It sounds like what your talking about is a form of meditating. Or psyching yourself out into thinking & believing that you are not in pain. I guarantee you that you are not the only person to do this to manage their pain. Plus, if it works then hey that's a whole lot better than pumping your body full of pain pills. I'm surprised my liver hasn't given out on me with all the medication I've had to take over the years. Thank you for bringing this idea to my attention, I think I'm going to give it a try next time I'm hurting. I'll post on here how it goes.

Screaming eagle, I might look into Nucynta again since it really does help the pain a lot. I think it helped manage my pain better than my hydrocodone does. (10/325) I'd probably use Nucynta when nothing else is working. I, for some reason or another, am an extremely moody person. It drives my husband crazy, I don't blame him either. My moods and rage is so bad that I've had a couple cases where I was living with people & they said they just couldn't handle my constant outbursts 24/7. I yell all day long it seems like, some days I'll get lucky & be mellow, but most the time I'm yelling and at inatimate objects. I'll be yelling "move!" to objects. It's really out of control & I just don't have any room to try & deal with a side effect of moodiness. When I was taking the Nucynta I would get so angry you could probably see the anger & rage in my eyes. I ended up breaking plates and throwing things, it was awful. I am currently taking xanax .25 right now, really weak stregnth, it's to help my anger. It seems to be helping me mellow out, well in the long run anyways. Like if I'm in a bad mood & yelling at things I'll take some xanax to calm down, but I don't notice much of an effect, but I have noticed that since I've been taking xanax I have had less days where I'm moody. I still am moody a little but not nearly as bad.
