Hi Sunny & welcome to the forum. Sorry to read what you have going on with you. Have you been checked out by a gi dr to make sure there is nothing going on there? My other thought would be if the gi situation is not a problem then perhaps one of your meds is causing the nausea. I have a pain pump & deal with nausea nearly every day. Its because of the meds in my pump. I also have crohns/UC which is currently giving me fits. Normally when those are not rearing their ugly heads its just plain old nausea which my PM dr rx's Zofran to me to take & it keeps the nausea at bay. Narcotics are known to cause nausea. That is pretty much my 2 cents of what could be causing it, lol. You know none of us are drs here, we just speak from our own personal experiences, lol.

Hopefully one of your drs can help you out with this & figure out what is going on. Take care.....

Hello Sunny and welcome to HW. Glad you made that connection here as many of us have multiple dignosis and we may drift over to another forum from time to time but there is something comforting about being with others who understand this life.

I have not thought about this in a very long time but your post reminded me that its so.

Way back before I actually was a CPer and was in Nursing school I had an awesome Pharmacology teacher who went into greater detail about opiates then the curriculum called for because his wife happen to be a CPer from a failed hip surgery and massive infection post-op.

He went into great detail of how opiates work on the receptors for pain in our brain and how drugs such as narcotics blocked those signals of pain,ok we know that much already,what he said following was the surprise.

We get pain relief via the blocked signals but does that mean our body's systems are not still experiencing the effects of pain? Good question and the answer is yes it does.

Even though we have our pain controlled to the bearable point we are not feeling it the stress factors and effects of pain is still present throughout or body. The reason that many Drs worry over giving pain meds to cardiac patients,they may not feel the signs or symptoms of cardiac infarct occuring but it will be happening and too late to reverse it.

So I believe even if we are controlling our pain we still have those effects of relentless horrible pain wrecking havoc from within. Thus could be part or some of why you feel as though the nausea is similiar.

As Susie said the meds turn against us after years too,I actually had rebound headaches so bad on a couple pain meds I lost lots of weight and had to keep on searching for something else.

Whatever the cause I hope you get someone to listen and get that under control since eating healthy is important to our bodys defense as well.
