As long as you are taking your pain meds as prescribed, not taking extra or getting pain meds from other doctors, you've got nothing to worry about. PM docs each have their own way of doing things, so I can't help you with what to expect. I wouldn't mess with the pain meds, even taking an extra "sliver" of one. Not taking the meds exactly as prescribed is really asking for trouble, and you don't want to take any chances of having them take away your prescription.
As for the contract, I am still learning all the details of mine. Best to get a copy of what you signed so you can refer to it when needed. I guess docs can each do things a little differently regarding the contract and how to handle different situations. I've never heard of a PM doc "controlling" all meds, including something like an antidepressant. Usually, the contract is about pain meds like narcotics and such. I guess the best thing to do is to read the contract and call/talk to your doc with any questions you have before filling a new script if you aren't sure about it.
I also think it's important to be honest with your doc, and to let them know of all the meds you take (important because of med side effects and interactions). Next time you see the doc, just tell him about the med you forgot to tell him about before. I personally wouldn't stop taking the med now, but if you are really concerned, call the clinic.
When is your next appt? When I go to appts, sometimes the docs make me nervous and I forget things, so I usually make a list of things I want to ask/mention before going into the appt. Makes things less stressful too.
Sunny.
