Hi mugsdb! First, Welcome to HW/CP....but sorry that you had a reason to seek us out!
Well, it seems like you've really been through the ringer lately. I just wanted to offer my humble opinion - don't be rushed into anything you don't feel comfortable with. As long as you are on the antibiotics and it's not a 'life or death' situation where they say you absolutely need immediate surgery - put the brakes on for a moment. It sounds like the surgery to remove everything is a fairly complex procedure, not just 'simple' day-surgery stuff, so I would allow yourself to take a few minutes here and process it all. I would think that, short of an emergency situation, they would want to make sure that the active staph infection was under control before they
opened you back up. Again, just my humble opinion - I'm certainly no medical doctor.
(Try to) have a peaceful day.
