Comments/ advise needed

So lately, I've been reading up and looking into info on Hot Tubs and Spas, anyone on here have or own one?

Does it help your pain? I've been considering a hot tub and we'll be moving in a few years, and looking to get a house with a screen in porch. So I'm wondering if a hot tub/spa would help. I do have a larger bathtub in one bathroom and when I get the water hot (not warm) it feels so good...

So what's your views on a Hot Tub, right now I'm look at "Bullfrog" brand as you can pick your spa jets with these hot tubs... However they do not have a great warranty...

please share your views...do you get relief with a hot tub/spa?

We have a Jacuzzi (so not the same thing). It was already installed in the house when we bought it.....it's not something we would have done on our own.

Since I'm not a fan of anything warm/hot (even my showers are luke warm)....I've only used it on occasion. But when I have, yes, they do help. Especially when you can focus the jets on your tight and sore back muscles and sink down low enough to get your neck immersed.

The combination of pulsation and warm water works to relax the muscles.....so in that regard, yes, I would say it's helpful.

Sunny we'll be going from South Houston to North Houston, because of the hassels we have to take to leave for hurricanes, hate all that especially when my husband's work requires him to stay...

Oh yes, definitely doing my homework, already been to one show room, and will do a wet test when we come time to purchase. They are a huge investment. BullFrog brand can customize the jets.
However this dealer told us we needed a slab of 6 to 8 inches and typically a house slab is 4 inches...so more home work. We already researched the Electrical and will need a separate GFCI Breaker Box(Panel).

My parents have a Therma Spot hot tub. It was one of my mom's life long dreams to own one. And my parents finally saved up enough money to get one 7 or 8 yrs ago. They love it. I know that my mom does think that it helps with her knee arthritis and her back. Both of my parents routinely go in it after they come home from the gym.

When they were looking at hot tubs, my parents actually had a Therma Spas rep come out to the house. I'm not sure how they arranged that, but I think it was helpful because they guy actually got to see the space available and was able to discuss what models would fit their budget and style that they were looking for (aka lots of jets). I'm not sure that they really looked at any other brands -- although my mom had been researching hot tubs for a long time. So maybe she did more work than I realize. Therma Spas is supposed to be a very good brand, and I think that at the time, they were also able to get a very good deal.

Their hot tub is outside (like straydog said, it is great in the winter -- lots of fun in the snow, especially). They did have to put down a concrete slab before the hot tub could be installed. So I guess wherever you are going to put it, you need a sturdy base. It is some work because you do need to empty it completely and clean it out periodically (I want to say that my dad does that 3 or 4 times a year). But all in all they absolutely love it and think that it was a great investment!

This may sound archaic, as now-a-days it may be standard, but I'd also make sure you can adjust the angle of the jets. Ours can adjust, each individual jet.

I recall (many moons ago) using one where the jets were set and that was that. The benefit is, as was mention, being able to aim that sucker right in the sore spots to let that pulsating water get in there!

My jets are adjustable & the frame is made out redwood. I am not understanding the skirting thing, ours came complete, all of their models did. Our lights were built into the unit.
