Horrible Back Pain? Help!

I couldn't find a topic on here that would relate to this so I figured this was as closeas iI was going to get. Let me first start off by saying I have hypothyroidism and Lupus. The past week I've been experiencing this excruciating, sharp, stabbing pain in my mid back on the right hand side just where my ribs end at. It'll happen for only fourth five seconds to a minute long but it's very intense and I've had two kids so I know how to manage pain, but this is much different.

I'm scared it could be something vital, I know Lupus attacks all your vital organs and I've yet to be put on proper medication for it. I'm currently only taking Levothyroxine for my thyroid issue. My TSH levels for my hypothyroidism have been in range,, around 1.5. I don't know if it's the side affects of my medication or this horrible autoimmune disease I'm dealing with. If anybody has experienced thisbback pain and knows about it I'd appreciate some input. Thank you!

One of my first guesses is that it could be your gallbladder acting up, but it could be any number of things. I would see a doctor about this soon and get the ball rolling on it.

In the meantime I would be keeping a notebook listing every time you have these attacks, what you were doing in the 30 minutes before, if you ate what you ate, etc. This can be very valuable to both you and the doctor in figuring out what is going on.
