I injured my rt elbow on a file cabinet at work Sept. of '12.I had therapy but ended up needing surgery. I waited til I couldn't work any longer and had surgery July 18,2013. surgery went well I thought but still struggling with pain, burning, weakness and numbness, I can only lift 20 lbs and can't do repetitive things. my left arm (elbow started to hurt about jan/feb of 2013) I am an STNA and the work is physical so I used my left arm as my dominant arm consistently since at least April 2013 due to safety of my clients. The dr's wouldn't document it, the dr that did my surgery left his practice in the end of December 2013 so I had to find a new one. He is good but doesn't know that I want to go back to work and understand that I'm not trying to use the system. I'm trying to get comp to cover the left arm as well so I can get fixed and back to work. Right now everyday things are difficult. Driving, vacuuming, laundry (folding things) washing dishes the twisting motion of unscrewing lids reaching for food and if I turn my arm and grab something at the same time its a killer pain. cooking certain things is hard, cutting meat, stirring things, doing my hair and many more. Does anyone else have anything similar with this injury or any ideas on what else I can do? I even have a hard time with my balance cuz I can't strengthen my core or walk well due to my balance. You don't realize how much your arms balance you til they don't work. I also can't let them hang down. My hands are in my pockets most of the time or I'm holding my arms in front of me.
