Also just as important that your meds be known in case of in-flight issues with your health or God forbid that plane had some kind of emergency. Not long ago we had one nose dive right off the landing strip at take off and passengers were injured, medical personnel responded and in such a case your purse or bag could be anywhere and then you could end up in trouble if they gave you something likely to interact with opiates or whatever your taking. Definitely fly with a medi-alert.

I travel at least 3-4x per month, all over the country, and always put my meds in my carry on in a sealed bag and I have never once been questioned by TEA. Come to think of it I haven't been to Florida in a year or so but I know for sure I never had an issue there. I have the TSA PreScreen qualification so I don't have to go through the full body scan or anything like that, but my carry-on still goes through the channels, of course.

I quite honestly never knew any of this information! All I know is that I'm not allowed to take MM from state to state, that's part of what you commit to do when you get a MM license/permit.

The prescreens an awesome option! It helps speed things up! Im not saying there would be a problem only that trying to hide them, nondisclosure, carrying them in your pockets, bras, etc could get you pulled into the "closer look " office! They are not expertly trained but are trained to pick up on suspicious behavior and the above mentioned things could be considered just that. They are not going to miss much with the new scanners and are going to see them no matter what you put them in but some of the fireproof lock boxes obscure the scanner so your likely going to have to open it. I saw one person recently have an issue with getting one of those 14 day med dispensing boxes through and I can see why as they're not labeled bottles prescribed to you, just an awful lot of pills in a case! So that's something you dont want to do.

The airport actually advises bottles with origional labels, clear zip lock bag or make-up like bag in your purse or carry on but I wouldn't want mine overhead outta my sight in case I were to fall asleep or something? One lady also told me she keeps a one paged typed letter folded in the bag giving details of her health issues. That may be a good place to have that info should something happen.

Vickie I do that, too. I can't see why anyone would hide anything? I'm just saying nobody has ever questioned me and I keep a fair number of pill bottles in my carry-on, at least 4 and sometimes 5. I also never take my medication in view of anyone on a plane, like someone said, sticky fingers are everywhere. But I don't know what I'd do without prescreen. Not having to take off my shoes, especially in winter, is key for me! Especially because I have to take my max dose of meds for traveling just so I can make it to where I need to go. What's good is that I almost never have to do any driving where I go ;-)

I am quickly learning that I have to do what I have to do to feel BETTER.I guess I posted the question because I still have work to do on accepting my health condition. Its like I just want to hide evidence of my health issues. I don't want anyone to know, or question, or judge me as a lesser being. Traveling by plane did take full arsenal of meds. Does take full arsenal of meds, unless I choose to suffer.I'm DONE suffering. The only thing standing in my way is the price of these meds.. WILL WORK FOR INSURANCE.
