Schwannoma Tumors in Spine

Welcome shortgirl to the chronic pain forum at HW. I must say as rare as shwannoma is I doubt your going to find a anyone here with it or anywhere really unless someone somewhere has a support group for it. Your local hospice may have that information. From what I recall less than 1%of the population has this. We certainly understand pain associated with spinal issues here as well as neuropathy so although we may not have this we can relate to most of the symptoms associated with it.

Is there a family history? It seems I recall that of those who have it many have a genetic predisposition. What treatment options have you used or have they offered? Did they biopsy the tumor? Is surgical intervention possible? I realize the outcome of removing it solely depends on it's size and how much of which nerve is encompassed.

Anyway I wanted to welcome you to HW and say we have a great bunch of folks who have an unfortunate amount of knowledge about living with a chronic illness and the effects on our lives.
