Hi short girl,
My understanding is that these schwannomas are benign. I don't have that (they are nerve tumors) but do have both Tarlov cyst (a nerve cyst) and eight intraosseous hemangiomas in my thoracic spine - all benign. The doctor does not seem concerned. They would only deal with them if they were causing major impingement issues. But I am quite convinced they are what cause my thoracic spine to ache when I am vertical for too long.
My guess is that unless the tumor is pressing on something and causing problems they will just watch it. And depending where it is, they may take it out sooner or later.
Don't panic, just follow up and talk to your doctor about it. Hope that it is not causing you pain?
Take care!
