It's that time again and I'm on time for check-in and hopefully thats a good sign.

Welcome all new members to the CP forum at HealingWell and this is where we meet on Mondays, hopefully, and check-in!! Tell us how your weekend went and anything you did you would like to share. If you want to let us know about any upcoming appts, procedures or tests have going on this week or if your going to be away even. If you or someone you know needs HW prayers and thoughts ask it here as well.

I had a great week last week as my daughter and grandaughter were visiting from Texas. I'm a little bummed out over their leaving this weekend since I only see them a few times a year and that's just never enough time it seems. Exhausted from having all the extra people as family and her friends all gathered to see them and my grandaughter is 2 and its been some time since I have had a toddler underfoot. Those of you on my fb can see the pics from Disney and no I sat this trip out since I braved the one in the spring!!

I can't believe we are headed rather quickly into another holiday season. The weather here in Florida is finally giving us some comfortable nights even if its still muggy days. Florida's winters are what brought me out of 50 years in the hills of KY.

Prayers to our Kitt and her family, Roc,and those of you recuperating from surgery, and that each of you find pain days you can deal with this week.

Vickie, that sounds great that your granddaughter visited! How fun. I'm sure it's rough having them leave but I'm glad you got to see them for a while, that must have brightened your week.

I'm waiting on a call from my GP this AM for a neuro referral. Hopefully I can get in soon, and maybe I can get imaging ordered BEFORE I go so that my first visit isn't just being sent for more imaging. (One can always hope ... )

I have ANOTHER new, horrible problem - called PGAD or ReGS - it's too embarrassing to talk about, you can google it and read about it if you're interested. I don't know if I have the actual syndrome, but I have all the symptoms, so I guess it doesn't matter.

Let's just say it's downright awful and if one more thing happens to me that forces me to remain in relative isolation I'm going to kick and scream and cry. It started on Thursday and lead to an unbearable weekend.

Episodes can last anywhere from a few hours to forever. I hope mine goes away soon.

I hope everyone has peaceful days this week. Positive vibes for all that are suffering.

Happy Monday!

Last week was not too bad. My energy was up and the pain moderate. However, yesterday it felt like I was being knifed in the back all afternoon, so I turned into a real crab. So far so good today.

I have my 2nd PM appt Thursday and I am mentally preparing for it. I am sure it will go fine, but I tend to stress over any appt. Hopefully he will take me off the Zohydro since it's so expensive and seems to only work 70% of the time.

Vickie, sounds like you had a lovely time with your family

BTL - Fingers crossed you can get your neuro referral soon, and that you can get help with those new symptoms too - they sound awfully distressing :(

Thoughts to Kitt and her family, and all else who need.

Another big week here, sort of, as I'm having my pump replacement done on Wednesday. Bit stressed - more about the hospital than the surgery - and hoping that my nightmare nurse from the past few visits has moved on by now. Least I know I'm in good hands with my surgeon and PM.

Good morning all & welcome new members!

Prayers & positive thoughts for all.. special ones for those in 'extra' need.

Vickie- How wonderful it is to have family visit, 'specially those energetic little ones !
No matter how 'down in the mouth', I have to smile & have a renewal of hope for everyone's future when I'm around them..
(& am reminded of why motherhood is not for sissies - & most often for younger folk!
Though I admire people who become parents when they are older I'm glad my **** granddaughter is not my daughter/ responsibility.. too much drama for me nowdays.)

Though I've never (yet) purchased from QVC I do sometimes watch - have not for awhile but did yesterday...
they gave the count down to Christmas & I think I actually shuddered..
I had not even thought about Christmas- just pulled out my little stash of Halloween toys last Friday !
Of course Grandkids started their wish lists weeks ago - soon as holiday advertising kicked in.. long lists !

Florida / down South is more tempting the cooler it gets: looking back I have been way too 'lazy' this last year or so -
Much worse in the winter.. weeks without going outside. Not good. Plan to buy a light to banish SAD.

Mr M M - hope your good start = a good day.

Laura - hope 'the' nurse is nowhere around this trip ! Prayers for a good outcome / easy recovery.

MMM, good luck with your PM appt, I hope they'll give you something else. I think that explaining the difficulty with the zohydro will help.

Laura, good luck with your pump replacement, you must be nervous! I hope that nurse isn't around.

Diane, I get you about the weather. I live in a place with long dreary winters and really want to relocate!

I'm really getting sick of all this new cr_p going on all the time. Last week it was my eyes/headaches, now this PGAD thing. I'm scared to wake up every morning for fear of something new going on.

Well as Vickie mentioned the Holiday season is rapidly approaching! I have been going through several stores that have their Christmas decorations out and on display! I am trying to get ideas on what I want to get to decorate my new tree that I got, I tuned into a shopping channel back in July and they had the Christmas in July special going on! I just could not resist, so I got a new Christmas tree, a nine footer this time to go with the vaulted ceiling in my "new for me" Kentucky home! Anyway it is one of those that has LED lights that will shine white, or colored or pastel, and will do all the different patterns too! All with just the same one LED bulb! It even has a hand held wireless remote! Let the Christmas carols begin! I am getting ready for my favorite time of year! LOL Last week my sister laughed at me when I took her to her follow-up appointment from her first cataract surgery, I had Mannheim Steamroller Christmas in the Aire CD album playing in the car stereo! LOL

I am kind of disappointed with the steroid injection I received last week in my right knee. I don't think it did much, and the last few days, (since Friday) I have been hobbling along! Something feels like it is slipping and catching in it, and causing a whole heck of allot of pain! Plus making it swelling up like a basketball! It is very unstable, to walk on, and it is getting a bit old trying to cope with this thing!

Anyway I hope everyone is doing good and enjoying this fall weather!

WB that's probably the only day of the year I miss KY. Xmas was sort of strange my first few years in Florida. The parade temps the week after Thanksgiving here last year was a hot humid 85. We don't put Rudolph on top of the community tree but rather Sandy the seahorse holds that position. The beach at 70 for Christmas eve service were all things foreign to this old hillbilly. I have gotten use to it though since I can actually go to all those things without the 20 degree cold being a deciding factor on my poor old arthritic knees. My grandaughters pics on fb at Hollywood studios Frozen live musical and made a snowman afterwards. They also make it snow for ten minutes every hour from Thanksgiving to Xmas on the boardwalk here so I don't have to go far too see snow and its still hovering near a chilly 65. Doesn't last long once the snow leaves the machine but you can ice skate on the beach at the portable ice rink that is a season favorite and all of that without anymore then shorts and flip flops. Florida does a good job making snowbirds feel at home at Christmas.

Hi all. I didn't want to create a new thread as this is somewhat off-topic.

As you know I went to my first PM appt 10/8 and I have the follow up this Thurs 10/23. My impression was that I liked the doctor and office very much, but we need to work on the selected treatment.

This afternoon I get a voice message from their office telling me that my insurance denied the claim and that I owed them $525 dollars on Thursday plus $120 in co pay if I planned on staying with them. redface redface redface

To say I was in a panic is an understatement. I ALWAYS make sure I make appointments at offices that are covered by my plan! Since I absolutely in no way can afford that, my mind starts racing thinking that I'll have to find another PM Doc and go weeks without any meds and then I'll get flagged because it looks like I am Dr shopping, etc. not to mention being $525 dollars deeper in debt.

I immediately called my insurance (Florida Blue) and asked about the claim. The lady I was speaking with tells me, it's been paid and you owe $12.80 redface I verified we were talking about the same dr and appt and told her that they called me and told me it was denied! She said no sir, but we just submitted payment today, maybe that's it? I thanked her.

I called the office and told her it was paid today and I only owe $12.80 per Florida Blue. She was like, oh, um ok, I'm so sorry, I'm not sure what's going on in billing as they told her it was denied due to not meeting my deductible. (I met that months ago) I told her it was paid today and she agreed maybe that's it.

Needless to say, I am bringing in a printout from the insurance website showing how the claim was settled on Thursday.

I really like this Doctor and office, I'm just hoping their billing department had a hiccup! rolleyes

I actually went to PT yesterday for the first time in 3 lonnnng weeks and had one of the best workouts ever! A full and hard 90 minutes and I could have kept going except I was quivering out the door....

Had a mini-meltdown over my BC anniversary and my official one year f/u in 2 weeks (first mammo since being dx'd). Sat in parking lot for almost 20 minutes trying to calm down. (Thank you Susie!) So yeah, that got talked about in therapy today.

But it felt good to me, to get back on the work-out horse after such a long absence. I was going coo-coo (even more coo-coo? Is that possible?)

Surgery all good & very little surgical pain so far :) Had a lovely anaesthetic team - who knew lots about chronic pain and dysautonomia...double bonus! Also have a great nurse tonight who is a former vet nurse, so we have lots to talk about :)

CRPS Patient, I am SO glad! Good nurses are absolutely priceless. Glad to hear about your relative lack of pain, as well!

MMM - I am glad to hear that your insurance did pay for your appt, the thought of not being able to afford my PM or any of my other docs and procedures keeps me up at night. I'm so glad it worked out for you and good luck!

I'm late for the check-in but that's ok.Wow Matt.That had to be a great relief.I pay $12.00 at my PMD.I think I paid $28 the 1st visit so your co-pay on the $120 Office visit may be less.Glad you're in.

Hey Vickie,I love when the family's here and my little Great Niece(5) and Great Nephews (7) & (3) are here.They all love to pile on the bed with me and watch cartoons for hours.That I can handle.The 7 yr old thinks I'm his "Toy",but that's ok because he's my favorite person in the world.

I love the cooler weather but my knees don't.

I wish low-pain weeks for everyone.

That anesthetic team deserves cookies! It's so fortunate to have a good group of docs who have an understanding going into this that we're wired a little differently. Very good news!
