This is going to hurt he said and I laughed

Sometimes I find the world quite amusing. I have to share this, and only this group will get the humor...I think, I hope.

Have any of you noticed that minor painful things just can't touch you as you are already fully invested by something else in another area?

So Friday I was in my gyn office to discuss an issue. He said that I needed to have this procedure... but, he suggested I reschedule as this could really hurt. He told me that most women want to take pain meds beforehand.

I just burst out laughing. Oh my, isn't he sweet. I am sure he thought I was having a melt down of some sort. I had to explain to him that with everything going on in my shoulder he really couldn't "hurt' me. He wasn't totally convinced but we did it anyhow. Sure enough...barely even noticed what he was doing over all of the screaming in my shoulder. I had just left pt. He said I was the first one he has done without at least OTC meds.

I've had that happen to me a lot, LOL. Last week I had 'trigger point injections' in an extremely sensitive female body area (right up inside me, for lack of a better word). They were large needles and 10 shots. I barely flinched, the doctor was flabbergasted. He had urged me to do it with mild sedation. I didn't want to waste time in yet another appointment so I said, no, go ahead, you'll find I do quite well with it.

At first he was reluctant, but when the first shot occurred and I didn't move a muscle, he laughed and said "I guess you were right. Really right." LOL.

I'm right there with you on sticks, barely even felt the big myelogram needle. The pain of having to lie on my belly overwhelmed just another poke.
