This weather is really kicking my butt. In about an hour it dropped 20* and the snow has begun. Just cant get the pain levels down when it gets this cold. It eats through into my bones. I know a small part of its because I can see snow and that just a very wrong thing to me. White bits of death falling from the sky. All day it has been really hard to move my arm and neck, so it isn't all the I hate snow issue.
This Florida girl wants to go home!

Heading for a hot bath now. I am going to put in my ocean soundtrack and pretend for as long as the hot water heater will allow.

I hope everyone is warm and peaceful.

I too dread this d@:; cold weather : I gotta go out tomorrow & I am sssooo not looking forward to doing it !

Daesin something I discovered recently thanks to one of my sister's is a brand of ladies long underwear called Cuddl Duds, they are awesome. The cold just does a number on me & let me tell you I love mine. My sister also bought another set & sent them to me. I bought a set called Climate something or another. Sorry I cannot remember the entire name. Go to their website CuddlDuds.com & you have never seen so many different types of long underwear in your life. My sister says that she has seen some of the styles at WalMart so I would check online with several stores to see who is selling them.

Diane, so sorry to hear about your outside activities. I refuse, flat out ain't happening.

Susie, thank you, yes. I have a pair for everyday of the week...not sure if its the same brand (Wal-Mart) but aren't they awesome!!! Some are cheerful colors but most are grey or black. White just clashes too terribly with my pale legs.
Not the old thick need a bigger pair of pants to go over them style. These are thin, soft and warm. Everyone needs these!
I even have a small electric blanket that sits on the couch. No matter where I go I am bundled. I have to be. It just eats me up. I really need to retire in a tropical climate. I am thinking Maui, Fiji, or Bora Bora.

Cold = pain for me too. I wear a snow suit! Luckily I am able to fit in childrens size 14-16! I don't care about what people think! The only place I was ever comfortable was when I took a trip to the Fla keys! My kids got me a heating pad that goes around the neck, covers the shoulders and trapezius muscle area. I would be lost without it! Along with the ocean soundtrack, try burning a candle that smells like suntan lotion!

I hate winter! I have ortho-A and we've had 3 back to back snowstorms here in the high desert of NM. The combo of cold and wet is the worst thing for my joints, Voltaren gel helps a little as do my analgesics but mostly I just stay in bed. Thanks for this vent thread Daesin, us warm weather folks sure need it . . . Q

We have been buried in 37" of new snow in the last 8 days here and tonite its going down to 20 below! blecchh!

Only about 3 weeks till March!

Single digits tonite but 50 this weekend..

My knee hi UGGS if i'm going to be out for extended time. Bought many years ago when I was still working. My work station was beside of old energy inefficient floor to ceiling windows. I was freezing all the time, especially my feet & legs. Decided to try UGGS & they kept me warm.

Wear socks almost 24/7.. changing them often of course.
No cold feet if I can help it!

My 'long johns' are ever present. Pink is favorite color !

I have thin ones for inside & thicker ones for - shudder - outside trips. Under my thick sweat pants.

Have electric heating pads - flat one - locate behind - keep my microwaveable flax seed pads warm.. (lower back &/ or hip)

And also those around -the -neck & around - shoulders ones too.

(And new in the box replacements in my closet already.)

My chant; spring will be here soon.

I can remember in my younger days, I would always make fun of the "snowbirds". I was like why would anybody want to live that kind of lifestyle? And now that I'm 55 and in not so great condition, I TOTALLY understand why they do it. And boy oh boy do I want to be one of those people - I can't tolerate the cold weather, plain and simple. It just reeks havoc on my back and legs which then in turn makes life miserable. I told my hubby that a tropical homestead is not far in the future for us! Give me the sun, blue skies and warm tropical air! WOOHOO!
It makes me all warm and fuzzy to even think about it! turn

since I fell recently, I feel very trapped by the snow. don't know what to say, feel like I am going a bit nuts. Yesterday I did stuff, today not so much. feel like i am losing interest. the golden years.

Aloha, hope you'll welcome me into your Hawaii retreat, sound just what the doctor ordered a one way pass to beautiful Hawaii...climb aboard everyone, train to California and then a cruise boat to Hawaii and then a nice warm soak in the lovely pacific ocean...no more cold or snow, just lovely warm sand...

Hope thins brings you warmth....a nice book and warm weather to toast too...here's to Hawaii.,....

Okay Chartreux, I am packing my suitcase and ready to board the pain train!!! LOL
I sure wish I was in Hawaii, went there for my 25th wedding anniversary and didn't want to get on the plane home, I cried like a baby because I was so in love with the place - it was beautiful!
I am so ready for the nice warm weather, read a book, bask on my lounge chair, take my meds and be content.

Most painful headache that I have had in years
( that is not caused by muscles pulling this way & that or DD issues)
Get annoying ones when weather changes - this one has just been getting worse & worse all day.
