We are all or almost all effected by the vagaries of the weather and this winter has been a doozy. My pain stems from my sinuses and the multiple surgeries I have had to keep infections at bay. I have been lucky in that for the most part my infections had decreased to maybe twice a year. Right now I am dealing with my second infection bad enough for antibiotics in as many months. My ENT said the bad bacteria has over run the good. I wish there was a probiotic you could inhale or something. I know this is TMI but crusts form in my sinuses and until I can flush them out or they are taken out my pain level skyrockets. It is getting a bit much. I could just scream! I have dealt with this since '94 and I am very tired. I have managed to go to school (with a 4.0) and work this whole time but it gets harder and harder. Maybe it's the winter blues and I just need some sun.......Those in the sunny areas send some sunshine my way.

MtnG sorry to hear of your increasing difficulty and I agree we have all been effected this season as the bad weather has touched us across the nation,yes even here in Florida!! The remainder of this week however,is bringing warm sunshine my way and we are seeing high 70s and low 80s for the next couple of days. I was out yesterday in the sunshine and it was so invigorating!! I felt like a new person after a couple of hours outdoors soaking up that sunshine!! It has been a rainy past few weeks here and we have seen some record breaking lows as well and I like you felt suffocated!! All I wanted to do was stay in bed watching TV and nodding off all day with no interest in venturing out. Hoping the next few dry days before rain heads our way again will be enough to keep me going until the sun returns for good here in the south. Doesnt take long for cabin fever to pull us down and add to that the increase in pain the cold brings so many of us and it is almost overwhelmingly too much!!

Oh how I wish I could send you some NM sunshine but we've been having nothing but snow where I live in the mountainous north part of the state. This cold and low pressure has my Osteo-a going Nutso. You do have my thoughts and prayers though. We have a delightful Siberian Mtn Cat which is a mid size Maine coon. Everybit as loving and what a mouser. . . Q

We are almost 70 today, storms coming tonight or tomorrow, then the temperatures start to drop and will be in the 20's by Friday am. This is rollercoaster weather. And we lose 1 hr of sleep Sunday am.

Were having roller coast weather here as well (South Texas - Coast). Been raining on and off for the past week and more rain coming our way. We have 2 days of highs around 70 with rain and then the temp plummets again down to the 40's at night/50's day.

Compared to a lot of the rest of the country, we don't have the mountains of snow though. Can't say that I miss it, left New England in 2000 and I surely don't miss all that is associated with the snowfall.

Oh no................ I have become a snowbird, but, I need to be more south because the winter here is still too cold for me. We were thinking of retiring in Southern Florida in about 5 years, we will see about that because I have to factor in my healthcare (PM doc/medications).

I feel so bad for all of you so inundated with snow after snow, I know what that does for your pain and how it limits your exposure out of the house.

Stay warm and toasty, many hopes of less pain for all of you.

I hear you when you say it's getting harder to pull things off. I've only been doing this pain deal for 2 years and I'm already losing my ability to put on that happy face. I used to last a good two hours at social functions. Now it's an hour, tops. And I hear people asking me more frequently "Are you okay?". I've also heard myself answer "No, I'm not."
Maybe the weather adds to it, everything that hurt seems to hurt more. And that "stuck inside, void of sunning on the patio or putzing around in the garden" surely plays a part in it all, for me.
*sigh* So you're not alone.
While I don't have your pain, I sure feel it.
