Hi Leila. Hope you had a better night last night. I'm surprised to hear you are not casted. Every case is different I suppose. It's been so long since my surgery, I've been searching my brain for anything else. My doctor put me on Elavil for a while as it has a beneficial side effect of calming the nerve. As suggested by another, talk to your doc about meds for that. It takes a while for the nerve to calm down and get used to it's new location. Remember to breathe through any pain you may have. My physical therapist used ice on the scar, quite uncomfortable but worth it in the long run. They also massaged the muscles that the nerve was now buried under. Again, uncomfortable but worth it. My heating pad is still my best friend for those days when I've over done and it feels achy. I used a stress ball or ball of putty, the exersize helped desensitize the nerve. He also advised me to avoid caffeine, it being a stimulant, it can intensify the pain response. Hope you improve soon.
