wouldn't be great to not talk about pain, well i am going to try. we have air, water, heat, we have food, we communicate. mobility issues are a given.........but i will not let mine define me. we have hope in scientific break through's happening around the world. we have access to care........ok, some not the best, some countries have little or none. for those who have access to the internet it is a different playing field now on information; be it pain management, occupational therapy, homeopathy, experts, opinions of service providers etc. i write this in a humble way. wouldn't it be nice............i know the reality. maybe it is a pipe dream, but one i think about.

HT do you get Animal planet TV? Specifically Pittbulls and parolees? Anyway the star of the show starts off every episode with "I rescue with the hope that one day I won't have too" I have decided that is a good idea and way of looking at my pain issues much like the dogs she saves so is my pain,misunderstood,scary,unwanted and huge so I borrowed her mantra and try to live by it. I surely keep doing this HT in the hope's that someday I won't have too!!

I am a firm believer that the less power and attention I give my pain in my life the less I have to worry about it defining me. Although it is a part of me I refuse to let it become me and all that I am.

I love the mission and the passion you have for it Vickie. Hang on to both, they serve you well.

And Turtle....hugs to you!! I have an abundance of joy in my life today, awesome things to focus on. I think choosing an attitude of gratitude has helped me avoid some emotional 'slippery slopes' that would have only perpetuated the physicaL STUFF I've had to contend with.

So thank you for this post..Today I choose joy!!
And amongst those joys on the list--discovering I get another grandchild come September; watching the moon set; getting a refund from my Federal taxes; and the snow is MELTING! Yeeehaww...bring on spring!! ;-)
