Help Please

For the past year and a half I have been experiencing severe pain and numbness in my arms and legs. Within the past three weeks or so it has gotten to the point where I have to use a wheelchair because the pain is so bad. Doctors have ran blood and more blood and all is coming back normal. Do any of you possibly know what it is. I know it's a long shot but most days on a scale of 1-10 for pain, I'm at a 15 and I have a high pain tolerance.

My symptoms are:

Left and right legs have shooting, stabbing pain going up and down them. From my hip to my ankle.

They also feel like they are tingling, like they are falling asleep, then they go numb

Same goes with my arms and hands as well.

Plus have a constant headache where my eyebrows are on both sides of my head.

If anyone could shed some insight I would appreciate it greatly.

Hi Pinkiebee and Welcome to Healing Well Chronic Pain Forum. The first question I have is: Have you had any X-rays done of your upper and lower spine? or an MRI done of this area? Or have you been referred to a neurologist for an EMG or nerve conduction studies? Your symptoms sound neurological to me. Allot of things can cause your symptoms even a pinched nerve in you neck or lower back, or also a host of other things! An MRI of your upper and lower or your intire spine would probably be good thing to have done if your doctor thinks it will help diagnose your problem! If you haven't already been referred to or have seen a neurologist, I would definitely suggest it! A!so do you have any medical school close by? If so you might want to go to one of these facilities and get checked out!

Hi pinkie and welcome to the CP forum at HW. Like WB a teaching or university hospital is a good place to start and you really need to have a good work up by Neurology and if that yields nothing infection control Dr.

The first thing that should happen is a CT of the head to rule out anything that the headaches might be indicative of causing the weakness and numbness. From there looking at the rest of the spine.

Have you had any scans,xrays,mri's? Have all they done are blood tests? Whose ordering those and what kinda Dr are you going to?

One more question and not being nosy but it could have a bearing on ideas of whats happening to you,your age and gender?

What part of the country do you live in ad well?

If its too the point your immobile it certainly needs better answers quickly so finding the nearest University affiliated hospital is your best bet even if you have to get in via the ER.
