Welcome BillyF,
Do I understand correctly that you did have the surgery?
I had a similar experience. I just stumbled and tore my posterior tibial tendon. I had always been very flat footed which added to the problem. After seeing several doctors over a few years, finally one young doctor did surgery to fix the problem. That helped greatly after the recovery but the last of the pain did not leave until that doctor made orthotics for me to wear in my shoes every day. I needed some extra support. The added bonus is my low back pain is helped by wearing these! Now even years later I have more pain if I go without those orthotics in my shoes for a couple of days.
I suggest that first you follow what pitmom said and rotate your shoes, but make certain they are always supportive shoes. Add over the counter supports in your shoes. If that does not help, ask your doctor about
personal orthotics. I hope that helps you as much as it has me.
