I really thought that getting to the specialist would solve the mystery. I STILL believe this. The insurance folks have a different plan. They decided hours before my visit (a 4 hour drive there) that they would not cover the visit. The insurance examiner didn't feel there was enough evidence to support a dx of Thoracic outlet syndrome. My ortho, neuro, physio and gp believe there is. We are in the middle of that argument now. I fear it may last a while longer.
My goal now, and I believe it is realistic, is to be seen by Christmas (22 months post injury). I could include a lengthy rant here, I wont. To be very blunt: I really cant afford to waste any energy on anything that does not progress me on my mission.
Yes, I am looking for the silver lining. Even if I have to knock out a few teeth out to get the fillings. There will be a silver lining. Despite all of the boulders that drop in my path and on my head I refuse to give up. I just cant, the consequences of not getting this fixed are permanent nerve damage and the loss of use in my left arm. Not an option.
It is so easy to fall back and let the world kick you. We are so used to that, but it isn't healthy. It isn't helpful. They knocked me down but I am far from out. I hope you are winning your battles.
