I have been in chronic pain for 6.5 years. My longest occurring pain has been a dull ache/nerve tingling in both of my hands. The pain is usually light/moderate so I am able to somewhat ignore it, but at times the pain flares up and unbearable. I have been to countless doctor specialists - name it I've been there - no physical issue identified, a neurologist said it is a glitch in the pain response of my CNS. Over the last year I have developed two more pains that have become chronic. In August, I hurt my shoulder lifting a box and my doctor and physio thought it was a muscle tear - I had an ultrasound and an MRI - everything was normal. The pain however has not gotten better over the last 6 months. I have alot of pain, weakness and tension in the shoulder. Sometimes it hurts so much its hard to sleep, I cannot lie on the shoulder. Doctor has just said it'll get better with time, well its not and its extremely distressing. Just another chronic pain. Finally, for the last year I have developed horrible pelvic/uterine cramps during and up to 10 days before my period, as well as randomly during the month whenever I do cardio (I love working out). The pain can range from excruciating cramps (that I only get relief from if I take codeine) to a mild irritating constant ache. Was prescribed birth control pills for the pain which just made me a crazy woman. I am now living with chronic pain in 3 different parts of my body. I am feeling very hopeless and despondent. It never seems to get better. I just keep getting more and more pain, and with no physical explanation. I don't even know what to do or where to go from here because trying feels futile.
I am reaching my breaking point and at this point really reaching for anything that will help with the pain , alcohol and drugs. Anybody have any ideas or going through the same thing? I feel so alone.
