Thanks, guys.
Straydog, actually the fall was from last year, just no tendon repair then. While I appreciate having my foot saved then, I am not happy about
complaining for months and months and not getting a diagnosis of ruptured tendon.
I asked my podiatrist surgeon about
missing the tendon and he told me they're not often visible right away, being hidden in the sheath. OK, but the symptoms should have been noted sooner with all my complaining.
Abilene, that's exactly the tendon I ruptured and close to the way I did it. I couldn't stand on my toes, couldn't turn my foot inward, lots of pain, ankle falling flatter daily.
Heelbone was cut and a wedge put in with a small plate. Little toes tendon used to replace the useless PTT. But I also had a Baumann gastrocnemius recession - see a good video online. That hurts as much as anything.
And of course, there was removal of two plates on my fibula and the screws in the tibia from the original surgery. That actually took most of the 3 hour surgery.
Today, two weeks almost from surgery, I have the cast off and stitches out. I have a lovely boot for the next 4 weeks, and I have to continue with absolutely no weight bearing.
