Shooting pain in neck 1 wk post trigger point injection

Hi. I'm new here. I was hoping someone may have some info on trigger point injections in the neck. I have a pinched nerve in C4/C5 and Fibromyalgia. I am also very pregnant (7.5 months). I can't take meds due to the pregnancy so my Rheumatologist suggested the trigger point injection in my neck to help with pain and inflammation. It was sore for a couple of days after which I expected. However, starting today, randomly I am having shooting pains in my neck to the very right of my cervical spine up into the base of my skull. Idk it just feels alarming. Should I be concerned or does this happen after these injections sometimes? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I've had trigger point injections in my neck too. They hurt for a day or two, but never any shooting pains up spine.

I would just call the doctor's office and tell the nurse or assistant, not a secretary, about the pain and just ask for a call back.

If it keeps up the doctor might want to take another look (push around the area, have you turn head - that kind of testing).
