Opinions on neck?

My latest MRI showed 3 herniated disks in my cervical spine. And 3 areas of oseophytes. Two disks are effacing and abutting my spinal cord. The radiologist report said no spinal cord impingement, but I have several symptoms of myelopathy. Two days ago my neck pain and symptoms went crazy. Burning pain jumped from a five to an 8. Radiating pain down arms and hands also increased. I have lost around half the range of motion that I had. I absolutely cannot get to sleep with the pain and stiffness.

The only thing different that has happened is that I started a steroid pack 4 days ago to knock out some inflammation in my sinuses.

Anyone think the steroid took down some inflammation that always is in my neck and things moved or shifted a bit? I really do not want a fusion done. All my providers have been trying to keep all my issues stable for as long as possible to avoid surgery.

I think I am grasping at any idea other than I have lost stability in my neck and things are degenerating faster.

Susie, i have PT evaluation lined up for a couple weeks from now. If that doesn't work, then headed out somewhere for shots. This is all being done through my orthopedist. She said if the PT fails or I have worsening symptoms/pain then I need to come back immediately and I get referred out for the shots. There is a neurosurgeon in same building that they work with.

I have been taking 600 mgs of gabapentin for a few months. Its's worked wonders for the nerve pain down my legs from lumbar issues. It's not touching the neck pain though. I just don't understand why it suddenly got drastically worse when it's been fairly stable for years.
