So this is embarrassing to write, and especially to talk about. I recently reinjured my back and was given an opiate 1 time in ER and had just finished a round of antibiotics due to suspected pleurisy and pneumonia.
Nov 9 was day 10 of constipation (other than one round of diarrhea form overflow I think)! Lots of abdominal pain all over, gas, severe rectal pain (maybe a hemerrhoid too), and started getting diarrhea again. Tmi time. Greasy, some blood... 2 bouts of this. Anyways I had been to the hospital already at this point because of all my symotoms and severe abdominal pain, but decided it was time to go back, so far all the hospital had done was an xray (stool was all stuck up higher which apparently was of little concern) and prescrive OTC laxatives. The laxatives did nothing. It should also be noted that a walk in clinic dr. prescribed lactulose which I took tight before I got diarrhea and I am lactose intolerant.
So I went to the ER again, where the dr did a physical exam, checked my CBC and electrolytes, looked at my history, and decided it was nothing serious but decided to give me an enema and prescribe a higher dose of Restoralax than I had been taking. With the enema I passes some stool but... much of it was yellow. Like legitemately yellow. He didn't seem concerned and let me go.
The two days since then I have been taking the Restoralax as prescribed but no bowel movement since and still having abdominal pain and same symptoms. My family dr didn't seem concerned when I saw her before the whole blood and yellow stool fiasco.
I have an anxiety disorder that makes me overly anxious about my health and this has been torturous.
Any recommendations on what I should do?
