Fiance surgery is behind us!

Hello everyone!

Wednesday (7-25) my fiance got his C6-C7 disc replaced. It was a night in the hospital for both of us. His pain was almost all from incision but he had some awful puking going on. His swallowing is good and his voice is a little bit raspy, but improving. Now the road to recovery!

For me, things aren't looking so good. Due to stress from everything I haven't been able to eat very much and when I do I puke it right back up. Hopefully that gets better in the next few days.

My wrist is also swelling to the point where it is making my fingers hurt. Its a little disheartening because everything was going to well and now it is back to hurting all the time. At least it doesn't hurt the same as it did pre-surgery. I have an appointment next week to hopefully to figure it out.

Motox so glad to read your fiance's surgery went well. I do hope he behaves himself while recovering from the surgery. I feel certain that you will have your hands full, lol.

It sounds like you have hit a rough patch too. You have a lot of stress though going. Perhaps now that both of you are home, things will slow down for you.

Wonderful news about your fiance! You pile on a bunch of stress on someone with chronic pain and from my experience the pain level goes up every time. Try keeping it low key around the house and it might help. It's easy to say but not as easy to do.
