No meds. No warning.

It’s been 24 hours since last dose and so far it’s not too bad. Thought i would be in bed moaning and withdrawing. Pain is intense but I am use to that.

It’s Demerol. I have tried all the others and either allergic or have intolerance. Some cause breathing issues. It’s gone. I called 10 to 15 pharmacy’s and not a one had any. Mine said it does not show an available date so he doesn’t know if or when it will be back.

It works well for me. No high feeling. No one knows I even take it. No nausea. Now I see there is no withdrawal from it. Just intense pain from not having any. If they could come up with a extended release form it would be good. It doesn’t matter know. Having politicians decide what’s best for our Heath is our future. Might as well not have doctors who go to school for the degree.
I’m a little frustrated this morning.

B, so sorry to read this, but I am surprised the pharmacy had access to it in the past. I say this because my sister took Demerol & several years before the "crisis" her dr switched her medication. A script of 90 pills lasted her for quite a few months, she took it PRN. Her dr said the availability was the problem & having access at pharmacies would be very difficult.

Glad to read you are not suffering withdrawals, they would have shown up the first 24 hours. All you can do is is self help, perhaps getting away from stress at work will also help too.

I don't understand why the handed you a copy of your script, a copy is not worth the paper it was copied to!

Demerol (meperidine) is still being made. Chances are fewer and fewer pharmacies are carrying it. It is,mainly used in hospitals. Did you ask your pharmacy if they would order it ? Do you take the brand or generic? If you take the brand. You can try switching to the generic. Several manufacturers make the generic.

Demerol worked better for me than any other pain medication.. It did not affect my ability to drive, think clearly, etc.

Straydog, with the DEA reducing the amount of opiates manufacturers can make the past few years. I wonder if this not being available is a,sign of things to come. Usually when a schedule II med is unavailable due to quota. It is closer to the end of the year.

Okay guys. The doc has decided to try morphine. Says it’s close to what I had. I am very nervous about this. Almost to the point of not wanting to give it a go. I don’t want nausea, doggy or high feeling or a withdrawal if something like this happens again. I don’t know what I will do. Right now enjoying the beautiful beach. Listening to waves crash from balance with coffee.

I took MS Contin 15 mg twice a day. I would fall asleep in the middle of typing a email. I could not think straight. It managed my pain well. But I had no quality of life due to the side effects. I took it for over a year. The side effects never got better. Hopefully it will not affect you the same way.

First dose was yesterday around 530pm. Sick all night. It did the same thing all the others I can’t take does. At 2 am eating dry toast. It’s an extended release form so been sick all day too. Will not take another one.

B, sorry to read what happened with the medication. Embeda is morphine with Naltrexone added to it. Please go to Drugs.com & look up Embeda & read there. The combination of the two could be the potential problem.I'm curious as to why the dr didn't rx Morphine Sulfate, ER. Let us know how this gets handled.

So this is interesting. The clinic can’t waste the new prescription. They don’t know what they can do with it. They called the pharmacy and they can’t either. They are trying to see what they can do in this situation. They suggested the fentanyl patch again. I told them I wasn’t sure I wanted to do that just yet. Tonight has been rough. Last week I was able to rest as I was on vacation. Work has caught up with me. The pains the med was helping are rearing it’s head. The normal pains I am use to are getting worse and worse. I didn’t even realize i had left joint pain in hip . Tonight I can’t move that hip good or it hurts pretty bad. I probably will have to make a decision soon.

They can’t do it. New laws. I can take it to the highway patrol dept. but don’t have to bring anything back stating I did. I might flush. Ha

No. I am trusting what they tell me. They researched it all week. It has just changed in my state. I made sure to ask what I needed to bring them as proof and and they said nothing. They are trying hard to help me find another option that I can take. Great place.
