Had some x-rays done by my daughter's chiropractor. He tells me I have osteoporosis now and arthritis in my lumbar/sacral spine. That would explain my never ending pain there now.

He's 45 minutes away, so gave me a referral to a chiropractor in my hometown, rather than have me travel so often to see him. He said I would need very gentle manipulation/adjustments, which means more frequent visits, and the travel would be hard on me.

I'll also be seeing my primary care doctor soon, to discuss additional treatment options.

Trying not to cry.

PM, try not to stress. You have a post a couple posts about this. When you see your GP, he should order a Dexa Scan. It's a noninvasive scan that is used to detect & determine the extent of osteoporosis. If caught early, it can be treated with OTC supplements & low impact exercises. A couple of my friends a few years back caught theirs early & the dr recommended this. A year later their scans came back normal, yay. To this day they continue with this regime & have remained osteoporosis free.

By all means ask for a Dexa Scan & do a quick google on it so you have a better understanding of the scan. Insurance will pay for this with no problem.

Arthritis can be painful to get a handle on. I can't take NSAID, I just use different OTC things when it really flares up. Winter is my worst time to deal with it.
