Possibly spasticity? Anyone have sideways keyboard?

Does anyone have a sideways keyboard that can be rested on a lap and hands can type sideways. My arms are having trouble supporting themselves lately and it's really hard to use a mouse.

I am still waiting for appointment for a parathyroid isssue, but my symptoms for this undiagnosed illness have gotten worse and I have been having these attacks that are causing the doctor to believe that it is actually neurological. Heading back to a neurologist. I was fine this time last year. This all progressively began after I had a major head accident, although my Cat scan didn't show signs of brain damage. I did loose my ability to speak for 6 hours (could hear and understand everything) and lost all bladder control.

What frustrating process this year has been.

I would give away everything I have and move anywhere in the world to see any doctor that could just tell me what the @#$ this is and how I can at least reduce the symptoms. The only thing that comes close to describing it is spasticity, however, I can force my hands back into a normal position, but need to let them come back. My palm and fingers curl into the inside of my arm and my feet and toes pull upwards and my knees pull in to touch each other and up slightly.

I am often unable to take off a water bottle cap, use a keybopard and mouse, turn on a tap or hold a pen.

It is worse at night and waking up is a painful nightmare. I am going to get a counsellor today as I am starting to not cope well and am screaming and swearing in my home alone. I feel so angry that no one is stopping this.

I think I am going to start videotaping this and posting it on youtube so maybe someone can tell me if they have seen it before. It's crazy and I am getting worse. Yesterday I got to my front door and could not use my key to get in and had to sit on the ground outside and wait until I had the energy to stand up again.

Does anyone know if they sell sideways keyboards. It causes me pain to use my mouse especially. I use to live on the computer and be a very active person. Now I have to sit suddenly at times - could be on a subway platform floor or on a subway floor, on the sidewalk, in an elevator.

if I could rest my hands on their side and type with my arms resting on my body this would be easier?

I'm pretty sure they are available, if you contact a disability employment service, they may be able to point you in the right direction.

I tried several different types of keyboards, including split keyboards, tracker balls instead of a mouse etc - for me none of them were any good.  There was a company that provided accessories for office workers with a disability, that I visited.  (very interesting)

I now use a keyboard  with a touchpad and NO MOUSE.  My arm is permanently impaired from overuse of a mouse, but this keyboard has been great.  The brand I have is Addesso, I live in Australia, but I'm sure there are others out there.  It wasn't very expensive either!!!

I don't know if this keyboard would help your particular problems, but not having a mouse on a standard keyboard is great.
