Hi all~
I haven't posted in awhile and I hope everyone is doing well.
I have some questions, that I am going to ask the doctor, but thought I would see if anyone could help me here. I have Fibromyalgia and chronic back and neck pain.
Early last year, I went to a back specialist. They did or MRI or CT, can't remember which, and it showed problem areas with my neck and lower back. I was scheduled to have some sort of nerve block and epidural but cancelled the appointment because I found out I was pregnant. I guess I just assumed that I couldn't have this procedure because of the pregnancy. I should have looked into it more at the time, but my mind was swooming with the idea of being pregnant.
I"m now 7 months pregnant and I'm suffering. My lower back has never hurt this bad. It's beyond a regular backache. I'm allowed pain medication, but the medicine isn't touching the pain. I know that pregnant women can experience back pain and I think my pregnancy is aggreivating my pre-existing back pain. I can't get out of bed or roll over without terrible pain.
I am going to the doctor later today. But, can pregnant women receive any sort of treatment while pregnant? Can nerve blocks and epidurals be given to me now or do I have to wait until after I have my baby? Do you know if I have any options? Anyone have any experience with this?
